Love Me For Who I Am - The Backstory

Grammy Nominated Children's Music Artist, Brady Rymer, composed Love Me for Who I Am, based on his experiences at Celebrate the Children.

This video tells the story behind Love Me for Who I Am - Songs Celebrating Children of All Abilities, featuring the students at the Celebrate the Children School in New Jersey, who inspired Brady to create this joyful album.

This project matters: it has made a strong connection with children who often find it very hard to connect to their worlds, and it sends kids on the autism spectrum a message of self-confidence and empowerment through rock 'n' roll. Parents and educators nationwide have lauded this collection of original songs, and Brady has appeared at several Autism Speaks events during the past year.

The students at Celebrate the Children School are affected by autism and related conditions. Brady was moved by the stories he heard from the school community, the challenges faced by the students and their families, and by the enthusiasm and boundless energy the children brought to their day-to-day lives. He found himself wanting to write the kids songs of their own -- anthems, really: tunes relating to their own lives, music that would bring them together, songs they could feel great about. The result? 10 songs -- proud and rockin', infectiously fun, open-hearted and uplifting, occasionally heartbreaking -- that illuminate and celebrate the world of a child with autism.
